If Only Life Reflected This Clearly

Spent a couple of evenings trying to capture the moon on my walk. The water was perfectly still, giving me a clean reflection—and a fleeting thought about how messy life is by comparison.
For the past couple of evenings, I had this persistent feeling every single time I stepped outside for my walk. I really wanted to capture the moon in all its glory. It wasn't about making a grand artistic statement; I just wanted to catch it looking the way it actually looked up there in the dark. When I finally took the shot, the conditions lined up. The weather was completely perfect, and the water in front of me was entirely still. There was not a single breeze or ripple disrupting the surface. Because the conditions were so calm, I managed to get a remarkably good reflection—a sharp, crisp duplicate sitting right on top of the water without any distortion. Standing there alone on my walk, staring at that clean image, a fleeting thought came into my mind. I couldn't help but ask myself: if only we had such clear reflections of our lives, wouldn't it be better? Most of the time, our personal reflections are muddy, distorted, or completely obscured by whatever chaos or mental noise we are dealing with at the moment. We almost never get to look at our own situations and see an objective, perfectly crisp picture of where we actually stand. Seeing the moon mirrored so flawlessly on the still water made me wish our own self-examination was half as straightforward. Imagine if you could just look down and see your choices laid out without any murky guesswork. Wouldn't that make everything simpler? But life rarely gives us still waters to look into, so I just took my photo and carried on with my evening.
